The National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) serves those who serve and have served
the nation. NARFE is the only association dedicated to protecting the earned retirement benefits of federal
employees, retirees, and their survivors. NARFE's commitment is to secure the future that federal employees
have worked to achieve for themselves and their families. NARFE membership is nearly half a million
federal workers, retirees, spouses, and survivors united in a commitment to the economic security and
well-being of federal employees on the job and in retirement. Founded by 14 federal workers in 1921,
NARFE has become a major force on Capitol Hill and across the nation. NARFE is an effective and highly
respected legislative voice for federal workers and retirees. At the field level, with 50 state federations
plus federations in the District of Columbia, the Philippines, and Puerto Rico; and over 1,740 local
chapters, NARFE has a demonstrated record of success on many important issues. Members are kept up to
date on issues such as federal, state and local legislative developments, judicial actions, and regulatory
changes through NARFE's monthly magazine Retirement Life. NARFE's national and field organization,
in conjunction with 150 community-based NARFE service centers, provides advice and assistance in resolving
federal retirement and health benefit matters for civil service annuitants. NARFE cuts through red tape
to help members obtain the benefits they have earned and deserve. In addition to solid legislative
representation and professional retirement and health care benefits assistance, NARFE membership includes
special savings and discounts on a variety of products and services.
